It's safe to say the life of a high school student is usually busy. With everything from sports to academic, time management is a must.
For Warner High School student Traci Kulesa, managing everything from sports to college courses on top of her already busy workload make it tough.
Senior Traci Kulesa is always busy. Whether it's helping with her church group, taking advanced placement classes through Northern State University or the high jump on the track and field team while maintaining a sky high GPA, this student is truly unique.
"Traci is just an excellent student, she's very dedicated, she works extremely hard, and she always pushes herself to find answers and save the most difficult problems," Warner High School Math Teacher Kari Jung said.
Kulesa always seems to have the solution to most of the equations, even a problem that many students would find hard to solve, taking classes her father teaches.
"You gotta love her, I tell ya what, she's obviously blessed with cognitive skills, very intelligent, but very personable as you probably have figured out by now, Tom Kulesa said. "And at the same time, if I were to give her any compliments I would say she's a hard worker and I like to take pride in that as a parent to say that."
"He's hilarious and always joking around and it's fun to mess around with him throughout the day, he makes the day more fun probably at school," Traci Kulesa said.
Traci says her hard work has already landed her a spot at the University of South Dakota , where she plans to study speech therapy. She says her inspiration came from a friend.
"I have a friend who has a stutter and he's very involved in a lot of speech therapy camps and stuff, and it just seems like a really interesting field,"
A field that Traci's teachers and family believe will propel her above and beyond.
Northern Electric Cooperative is sending Traci a $100 scholarship for being the scholar of the week. Northern Electric Cooperative is a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
