NSU's Tetzlaff named NSIC Player of the Week

Posted: Updated:

Northern State junior forward Dustin Tetzlaff has been named as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for his efforts in the Wolves' sweep of Minnesota-Duluth and Bemidji State last weekend.

The weekly accolade is the second of the season for Tetzlaff, a 6-foot-7 junior from Watertown.  He also earned the honor on Jan. 4 following NSU wins over Upper Iowa and Winona State.

Tetzlaff averaged 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds to lead the Wolves to the weekend sweep.  He notched his fourth double-double of the season in Friday night's win over UMD with 14 points and 11 rebounds, five of which came on the offensive end of the court.  He also had 17 points and nine boards with an assist, a block and a steal in Saturday's win over Bemidji State.

Tetzlaff went a combined 11 of 16 from the floor on the weekend, which was a 74-point turnaround from the team's previous meetings with UMD and BSU back in December.
