Governor Dennis Daugaard has appointed Roger Novotny and Brent Dykstra, both of Fort Pierre, to the South Dakota Lottery Commission.
Novotny retired last year after seven years as director of the state Division of Banking. He had previously been an officer in a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Financial and served for 23 years in the state Department of Revenue as director of the Business Tax Division and director of the Motor Fuel Tax Division.
Dykstra was chief executive officer of First National Bank in Pierre for 25 years until semi-retirement two years ago; he has been with the bank for 37 years and continues on its Board of Directors.
Novotny and Dykstra succeed Virginia Nelson of Rapid City and Duane Schmautz of Pierre. Nelson has been on the Lottery Commission since 2006, and Schmautz has served on the seven-member commission since 2003.
The appointments of Dykstra and Novotny are subject to approval of the South Dakota Senate.
