A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper was injured on I-29 near Dell Rapids Friday night, when her patrol car was struck by another vehicle.
Lyndsey Dubbelde, a trooper stationed in the Sioux Falls district, was south of the Dell Rapids exit. The Highway Patrol had received calls that there were boxes were scattered on the road.
Trooper Dubbelde was parked off the roadway on the inside shoulder with her emergency lights activated. She was about to get out of her vehicle when another motorist struck the rear of the patrol vehicle.
Dubbelde, who has been with the Highway Patrol since 2007, was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital to be checked for injuries.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. No further information is immediately available.
