Notes: #1 O'Gorman hung on to the top spot with a 58-45 decision over Pierre. The Knights, which own afive-game winning streak, has won 52 of its last 53 vs. in-state opponents. In the city, the Knights have won 15 straight games vs. city opponents. O'Gorman plays at Lincoln on Tuesday and has won the last six games vs. the Patriots, including two straight one point decisions. The last Patriots win over O'G was a 46-40 win on Feb. 20, 2009. Lincoln won three times and remained #2 as the Patriots extended its winning streak to seven and has won 13-of-14. Despite a loss to #4 Brookings, Mitchell stayed at #3, even though they lost some support. Brookings moved up after a pair of close wins while Pierre fell to #5. Huron, which has won five straight, received support this week.

Notes: Class A had a bit of a shake-up this week with #1 Dell Rapids losing twice, including a showdown with B #1 White River, 80-64. As a result, Dell Rapids fell to #5 while St. Thomas More moved back into the top spot, which had been held by Dell Rapids for three weeks. STM has won seven straight games. McCook Central/Montrose, which has an eight games winning streak, moved into the #2 spot. The new #3 is previously unranked Madison, which has won seven straight, including a 60-56 verdict over Sioux Falls Christian, which had been ranked #4 but fell out of the rankings, along with previously #5 Flandreau. Dakota Valley, by virtue of a 68-60 home win over Dell Rapids, moved back into the rankings at #4. A team to keep an eye on is 14-3 Milbank which has a 10-game winning streak.

Notes: #1 White River (16-0) defeated Stanley County, 83-40; and beat previously A #1 Dell Rapids, 80-64, at the DWU Classic, as Wyatt Krogman scored 26 points with six assists. White River continued to roll and is the only team in either the boys or girls rankings to retain the top spot all season. White River has won every game by at least 11 points. Other than a 60-49 win over McLaughlin, White River has defeated all opponents by 16 points or more and own nine wins of 37 points or more. Faith, which has beaten every opponent by double figures, is the new #2 as previous #2 Rosholt fell to #3 after a loss to Maple Valley, N.D. However, Rosholt is still perfect against SD opponents and recorded a 65-59 win over previously #5 ranked Canistota at the DWU Classic. Viborg/Hurley hung onto to the #4 spot as they extended their winning streak to seven games. After losing three out of four, Canistota fell from the rankings while a hot Langford Area team moved into the #5 spot. Langford Area has won seven straight. Another team to watch is Lower Brule (16-3) which has a 10-game winning streak.

Notes: Mitchell, which hung onto the top spot for the fifth straight week, extended its winning streak to 12 games. #2 Washington added three more wins and has won nine in a row. Yankton defeated #5 Aberdeen Central at home and retained the #3 spot. Brandon Valley picked up a win and moved up a spot as Aberdeen Central was 1-1 and dropped to #5. A key game this week includes Brandon Valley traveling to face Washington on Feb. 14.

Notes: Wagner, which has been #1 for five straight weeks, continued to win and remained the only unbeaten team in SD prep girls basketball. St. Thomas More won twice and extended its winning streak to four straight. They have just one loss to SD opponents this year and that is to top-ranked Wagner. #3 Elkton/Lake Benton has won four straight while #4 Tri-Valley has now won seven straight games. Sisseton won twice and retained the #5 spot. Miller (16-2) did not receive support but is one of the hottest teams in the class with a nine-game winning streak. Parkston (15-3) is also hot with eight straight victories.
B

Notes: Defending champion and top-ranked Summit extended its winning streak to 12 games. Centerville won a dramatic game, 66-64 over Class A Beresford, on a Kieran O'Malley three-point shot at the buzzer. Centerville, which has won eight straight, moved up to #2. Eureka/Bowdle won three times and now has won 11 straight games. Estelline stayed at #4 with two wins. Previously unranked Warner is the new #5 with six straight wins and 16 victories in 17 games. Warner faces Eureka/Bowdle on Feb. 17 on the road in a regular season finale. Previously #2 Herreid/Selby lost and fell from the rankings for the first time all season. Meanwhile Sully Buttes, which as a 13-game winning streak, received support. Castlewood (14-2) has a nine-game winning streak while Hanson (16-3) has won 12 straight; but both squads did not receive support this week.
