SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper who was hit by a vehicle is expected to be back at work in a few weeks.
Lyndsey Dubbelde was checking a report of boxes scattered on Interstate 29. She was parked on the shoulder with her emergency lights on. Another motorist hit her car just as she was getting out.
Highway Patrol Captain Kevin Joffer says Dubbelde should be back at work in about two weeks. He says sore from the accident, but grateful it wasn't more serious.
Dubbelde has been a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper since 2007.
The accident happened Friday near the Interstate 29 Dell Rapids exit, about 20 miles north of Sioux Falls. The other motorist was cited for reckless driving.
