South Dakota House passes Synthetic Drug bill

Posted: Updated:

A bill that would ban synthetic drugs in South Dakota is one step away from becoming law.

The house voted 63 to one in favor of Senate Bill 23, five representatives were excused.

The bill now goes to Governor Daugaard's desk. The bill carries an emergency clause so if the governor signs the bill it immediately becomes law.

The law would make synthetic drugs like K2 and Bath Salts illegal in the state of South Dakota.
