Yankton structures demolished for business' lot

Posted: Updated:

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - A handful of dilapidated structures on Yankton's east side entryway have been demolished to make way for a Nebraska tree care company.

Hartington Tree plans to use the acre of property it purchased from Yankton Area Progressive Growth and a private citizen as a lot to park its vehicles.

The Hartington, Nebraska, company hopes to eventually build a structure on the property as a satellite location.

Co-owner Kyle Hochstein says the company has always had a foot in Yankton, and will see how much demand is across the state line to warrant the second location.

The property is on the south side of Highway 50, across from Stockmen's Livestock Market.
