J&L Harley-Davidson, the local Harley-Davidson dealer for eastern South Dakota since 1975, received a national honor on Friday.
J&L was recognized as the first-runner up for the DealerNews Top 100 Dealer of the Year.
The competition is open to all power sports dealers throughout the United States and Canada. J&L was one of the 10 highest scoring dealerships in the 2012 competition and judges awarded the runner up prize at ceremonies in Indianapolis on Friday.
J&L Harley-Davidson has received top honors from DealerNews, an industry publication, for 16 consecutive years.
In 2009 J&L received top honors recognizing their direct mail newsletter, the Eagle's Eye, as the best media campaign.
J&L Harley-Davidson, 2601 W. 60th Street North, is currently undergoing a showroom remodel that is expected to be completed by late March.
"We have been in this location for 11 years and felt it was time to change things up a bit. Our goal is always to offer our guests a great experience, now we will do it with a fresh look. We are very excited about the changes and were very excited to receive the DealerNews industry honor," said company president Jim Entenman.
J&L Harley-Davidson is owned and operated by brothers Jim and Lonnie Entenman.
They also own and operate Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson in Watertown, South Dakota.
