South Dakota State point guard Nate Wolters earned his league-leading fifth Summit League Player of the Week of this season for his performance last week.
The award is the eighth of his career and comes on the heels of the Jacks nationally-televised 86-65 win over Buffalo in the SEARS BracketBusters game on Saturday. In that game, Wolters scored 22 points to go along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Earlier in the week, Wolters led SDSU to an 80-57 win over conference foe North Dakota State. Wolters scored 30 points on 14-of-18 shooting and added five assists and three rebounds, all in 28 minutes played.
For the week, Wolters averaged 26 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and two steals in 33.5 minutes per game and recorded a remarkable 6.5 assist/turnover ratio.
The five Player of the Week honors this season ties him for the second-most in a single season in league history.
In addition the league honor, College Sports Madness named Wolters its Summit League Player of the Week on Monday for the third time this season.
SDSU returns to Summit League play Thursday by hosting Western Illinois. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Brookings.
