Flag flying at half-staff for NDSU students killed

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The mayor of Fargo has ordered the flag at Fargo City Hall to fly at half-staff in remembrance of 4 North Dakota State University students killed in a Minnesota traffic accident.

Mayor Dennis Walaker says officials want to honor the lives of the four female students killed near Alexandria, Minn., Monday afternoon. He says the flag will remain lowered for the rest of the week.

The Minnesota Highway Patrol says the students were from Minnesota and heading back to North Dakota State University when the accident occurred along Interstate 94.

The women killed were identified as Lauren Peterson of Prior Lake, Megan Sample of Rogers, Danielle Renninger of Excelsior, all 18, and 19-year-old Jordan Playle of Elk River.
