Our Scholar of the Week loves sports: he played football all through high school and ran track for three years.
He has a tough class load, and a bunch of activities...including National Honor Society and Future Farmers of America.
But this Milbank High School senior says he is ready for an even bigger challenge.
Adam Cloos is our scholar of the week.
How is this for a tough class load? "It's not a slack senior class schedule: I have Calculus, Physics, Chemistry 2, and Senior English, Sociology. Those are my main tough ones."
Adam Cloos tackles these tough classes without complaining. He tells us he has been given a great opportunity to learn about a wide variety of things and he has not squandered that opportunity. He is currently carrying a 4.11 grade point average.
Jerry Janisch is Adam's FFA advisor. "Everything he does he puts his heart and soul into it. I had Adam all four years...he always does his best."
And Adam does his best...not only because it's how he does things..but because he has his eye on a future that requires a lot of intense study and dedication. "I'll be going pre-medicine then taking the MCAT and then applying for medical school. And what type of medicine yet I'm not exactly sure. That's uncertain at the moment."
For being named our "Scholar of the Week", Adam will receive a $100 scholarship from Whetstone Valley Electric Cooperative, which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
