PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Department of Social Services is holding a series of educational sessions across the state to help people plan for long-term care as they age. The sessions will explain the Long-Term Care Partnership Program, set up by the state and private companies to provide long-term care insurance. State Social Services Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says the insurance provides benefits to people needing long-term care, the facilities that provide that care, and the state's Medicaid system. Long-term care includes services provided in a person's home, an assisted living facility or a nursing home. Information about the program and the educational sessions is available online at www.ltcpartnership.sd.gov .
