JOHNSON SIDING, S.D. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the cause of a Black Hills National Forest fire in southwest South Dakota.
Fire crews with the help of airplanes on Tuesday contained the fire in the Johnson Siding area, which is west of Rapid City. The Bogus Jim Fire burned about nine acres, which is less than a square mile. No structures burned and no injuries were reported.
Officials say rain earlier this week helped with dry conditions but the fire danger is still high in the region.
