The Sioux Falls Events Center won't get a multi-million dollar down payment.
At Monday's city council meeting, Mayor Mike Huether suggested the city put $4 million in capitol improvement reserves towards the Events Center.
That money came from a second penny sales tax.
But a majority of the council voted against that idea.
Council Member Vernon Brown told KSFY Monday night members said the new money should be used for old priorities, like improving city streets.
