Pennington County meetings to discuss pine beetles, fire danger
KEYSTONE, S.D. (AP) - Officials from Pennington County are hosting community meetings next week to inform residents about fire danger associated with areas of the Black Hills affected by pine beetles.
The Pennington County Sheriff's Office says local and county officials will be giving presentations on fire danger and behavior and law enforcement response to evacuations. They also will be discussing emergency preparedness, a reimbursement program and other topics.
The first meeting is scheduled for Monday at the Community Center in Keystone. On Tuesday, a meeting will be held at City Hall in Hill City.
