Sioux Falls police arrested two people after a meth lab was discovered in a drug free zone Wednesday night.
The lab was found just after 8 p.m. Wednesday on West 10th Street just a block south of Axtell Park Middle School in Sioux Falls.
In addition to the meth lab, Sioux Falls police found methamphetamine, marijuana and various drug paraphernalia.
Jon Leonard was arrested for manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance and in violation of a drug free zone. He was also charged with possession of marijuana that was less than 2 oz.
Samantha Heubrock was also arrested and is facing similar charges.
Sioux Falls Detective Jon Carda says some of the chemicals they found in the meth lab cannot be purchased. He says the most common way to obtain them is by stealing them from a tank in a field for fertilization, or perhaps in a tank at a local co-op grain elevator.
The investigation is ongoing.
