A lot of folks took advantage of the last day of the free landfill pass offered by the city of Sioux Falls. The coupons were mailed to homeowners to use between the beginning of April through June 30th.
It's good for one free load of materials, we found a lot of people who squeezed in on the freebie to get rid of things like freezers, glass windows and yard wastes.
"It was more we had work done on our trees in the backyard and it was a good time because we had to get rid of that stuff and the free pass was there. So we figured we'd use it," says Christy Vander Woude.
This was Vander Woude's first trip to the dump and she said she appreciated how well laid out it is with signage and it was less stressful knowing she didn't have to pay for it.
