While many people were heading west on 41st street in Sioux Falls to make a splash at Wild Water West, many others were making heading toward the dump. A lot of folks were taking advantage of the last day of the free landfill pass offered by the city of Sioux Falls. The coupons were mailed to homeowners to use between April 2 through June 30th of this year (2012). It's good for one free load of materials and we found a lot of people who squeezed in on the freebie to get rid of things like freezers, glass windows and yard waste.

"It was more we had work done on our trees in the backyard and it was a good time because we had to get rid of that stuff and the free pass was there. So we figured we'd use it, "Christy Vander Woude said.

This was Vander Woude's first trip to the dump and she said she appreciated how well laid out it is with signage and it was less stressful knowing she didn't have to pay for it.
