The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has identified an Iowa woman who died after a van and motorcycle collided south of Hartford on Saturday June 30.

Jill Schwartz, 36, of Sioux City was the passenger on a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle involved in the crash with a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country van. Jason Lohr, 40, of Tea was driving the motorcycle.

Lohr and Schwartz were traveling north on 463rd Avenue where they collided with the southbound van that was stopped to make a left turn. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says the motorcycle struck the left front of the van, which was in the motorcycle's lane of travel.

Schwartz and Lohr were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Department of Public Safety says Schwartz died Monday of her injuries. The Department of Public Safety says neither rider was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the van and two minor passengers were uninjured. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety says all three were wearing their seatbelts.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
