BIG I National Junior Championship tees off Monday

The best boys and girls golfers in the state were at the Bakker Crossing Golf Course today in hopes of locking up a spot in this year's Big I National Junior Golf Championships.

The finals are in Austin, T. X. on August 7th. On the boys side, only two will make the cut. Garretson's Derek Dillion with a score of 68 to hold a one-stroke lead on O'Gorman's Max Donohue. Aberdeen's Cameron Huff is third, followed by Jace Guthmiller in fourth.

Only one will represent the girls., Abby Perrenoud of Sioux Falls Christian shot a 77 to lead the way. She holds a two stroke lead on reigning state champion,  Pierre's Hallie Getz. Kelsey Johnson of O'Gorman and Lincoln's Abbie Grevlos are not far behind.

Tee off for the boys is at 7 a.m. tomorrow, the girls open at 8:36 a.m.
