USD women's basketball program adds two coaches

Two Rogers State basketball assistant coaches are headed for the South Dakota women's basketball program.

Officials announced Tuesday that women's assistant coach Tandem Mays will serve as a graduate assistant for the Yotes and men's assistant coach Chuck Love will be an assistant coach for the NCAA Division I team.

Mays was responsible for the on-the-court skill development of guards and was involved in recruiting, scouting, academic development and travel for the NAIA team. During her tenure, five Hillcats guards earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference recognition.

Love helped coach the Hillcats back to the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Tournament quarterfinals. He was responsible for recruiting, scouting and the on the court development of post players.

Officials say a search for their replacements will begin immediately.
