Two Sioux Falls men arrested in drive-by shooting on July 4
Two Sioux Falls men are being held on $500,000 cash bond each for an alleged drive-by shooting on July 4.
Deshawn Swafford and Danny Washington, Jr. were arrested after Sioux Falls police pursued a warrant stemming from the July 4 incident.
Sioux Falls Detective Jon Carda said Swafford and Washington were in an argument at Borrowed Buck's Roadhouse in Sioux Falls and the argument continued to a nearby convenience store leading to a chase between the suspects and the person driving a pickup.
Detective Carda said Swafford and Washington chased the pick up from 41st Street and Western to the intersection of West Brookings Street and North Prairie Avenue where the back window was shot. Detective Carda said Swafford is believed to be the shooter and Washington drove the car during the chase.
Detective Carda said there were no injuries in the incident. Carda said it was unclear if the pickup was stopped when it was shot, but Carda said it was definitely clear there were people inside it.
Sioux Falls police received a search warrant for the vehicle Swafford and Washington allegedly used in the chase. Police found a .9 mm hand gun with an extended magazine.
