Preliminary fundraising reports show Rep. Kristi Noem raised double the amount of funds as her challenger Matt Varilek in the Second Quarter.
Rep. Noem's Campaign Manager Tom Erickson says the Noem Campaign raised $425,000 in the second quarter, which is April 1- June 30. Erickson says the campaign has $1.4 million cash on hand.
Matt Varilek's Campaign raised $206,000 in the quarter and more than $480,000 since announcing his candidacy in December 2011. The Varilek Campaign also has more than $291,000 cash on hand.
Federal candidates are required to file formal public reports of the second quarter 2012 fundraising with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Noem's Campaign Manager Tom Erickson says final fundraising figures are to be released next week.
