LESTERVILLE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Department of Transportation is upgrading a pair of railroad crossings over state highways.

Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad crews are scheduled to upgrade the crossing on state Highway 46 northwest of Lesterville beginning Monday.

The crossing surface will be removed and replaced with new concrete planks. The work will take five days to complete.

Highway 46 traffic will be detoured around the work onto Menno Road, a Yankton-Bon Homme County road two miles north of Highway 46 and east of Highway 25.

The following Monday, July 23, crews will begin upgrading the crossing on Highway 18 near Tripp.

Traffic will be detoured on the county road just east of the crossing. The route will go north two miles and west one mile to Highway 37.
