South Dakota Highway Patrol along with McCook and Hansen County authorities began a search around 3:00 a.m., Saturday, for a 31 year old runaway prisoner.

Man dies after motorcycle collides with deer
Authorities say a South Dakota man died when the motorcycle he was driving struck a deer on Interstate 29 near the Trent exit.

Yankton prisoner back in custody
A state prison inmate that walked away from the prison in Yankton on July 12 is back in custody.

South Dakota ends budget year with $47.8 million surplus
South Dakota state government ended the last budget year with a $47.8 million surplus thanks to higher-than-expected tax collections and lower-than-projected spending by state agencies.
