Lake Kampeska is one of the areas that you've got to see if you visit Watertown, South Dakota.
It's normally a place of leisure, a place where people maybe hike some trails or do some fishing or do some swimming. For the next two days, it will be the site of a friendly competition that is going to involve a lot of good food.
"We do competition cooking and we do four categories of meat; brisket, ribs, chicken and pork. Then they wanted to have their people in Watertown and visitors to be able to taste some of that so they're having a few of us that do BBQ also vend over here and actually sell it to the public." Jack Sieben is one of the competitors in this weekend's 'Cooking On Kampeska'. It's all about the BBQ for Jack and all his fellow competitors. This year there is a lot of money on the line; $8,000 as this is a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event. The competition is going to be good and fierce. And the food is going to be just as good. It's an event people are looking forward to this time of year. A hot time in the hot summertime.
