SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Acrobatic pilots including the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels performed stunts for military families and VIPs Friday during a practice day preceding the two-day Sioux Falls Airshow.
Big crowds are expected on Saturday and Sunday, but officials weren't sure how temperatures pushing toward triple digits would affect attendance for the free event. The last air show in 2009 drew about 150,000 people.
Other performing planes included vintage P-51s and a B-25, and newer jets such as F-16s from the South Dakota National Guard, the Marine Corps' AV-8 Harrier and U.S. Air Force's F-22 Raptor.
