ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a 24-year-old man driving a go-kart was killed and his 4-year-old passenger was injured in a collision with a car on a South Dakota county road.
The Highway Patrol says the accident happened about 10 p.m. Friday south of Hecla.
The patrol says the driver of the go-kart attempted to make a U-turn in the middle of the road and was struck by the car, which had been traveling behind the go-kart.
A passenger in the go-kart, a 4-year-old girl, was taken by helicopter to an Aberdeen hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the car was injured.
Names of those involved in the accident have not been released.
