ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - Authorities have identified a 12-year-old Claremont boy killed when he lost control of an ATV near the northeastern South Dakota town.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Jordan Lee Hanson was returning from a baseball game when he lost control of the ATV on a gravel road. Troopers say the vehicle rolled in a slough and pinned the boy underneath.
Trooper Tom Pioske says the boy's parents searched for their son after he did not return in a timely manner. They discovered him dead in the slough.
Pioske says the vehicle was equipped with seat belts, but the boy was not wearing one.
