Posted: Updated:

On Wednesday, Sioux Falls was one of 90 American cities in the first-ever nationwide drug raid against synthetic drugs in Operation Log Jam.

On Wednesday, DEA and other law enforcement officials confiscated various items from the tobacco store Roll With It along Minnesota Ave. in Sioux Falls. As of the Thursday, all three Roll With It stores in Sioux Falls were closed until further notice.

Mark Salter, with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Sioux Falls, confirmed to KSFY News that law enforcement at Roll With It were part of Operation Log Jam.

On Thursday, the Drug Enforcement Administration and other federal law-enforcement partners held a press conference to discuss the results of Operation Log Jam. The operation is federal action against the synthetic designer drug industry responsible for the production and sale of synthetic drugs that are often marketed as incense, bath salts or plant food.

In Operation Log Jam, 265 search warrants were executed in 90 cities across 30 states, and 29 manufacturing facilities were included in those searches.

The DEA announced there were 91 arrests made nationwide as a result of the sting. 4.8 million packets of synthetic canbinoids—drugs like K2—were seized along with the products to produce nearly 13.6 million more packets.

The DEA said 167,000 packets of synthetic cathinones with the products to produce 392,000 more packets were seized as well.

The DEA has not placed a confirmed dollar amount on what was seized, however it says 1 kilo of raw powder of canabinoids has a street value of $750,000
