Dairy Queen in Madison is calling Miracle Treat Day a success by exceeding its goal by more than 4,000 Blizzards.
Branch Manager Lana Zillgitt says they sold 31,351 Blizzards during Miracle Treat Day in Madison. Zillgitt says the branch's goal this year was to sell 27,500 Blizzards.
Zillgitt attributes the tremendous uptick to the overwhelming support from surrounding communities.
"Between a Blizzard and a kid, who can say no," Zillgitt said.
While the numbers are not final, according to Sanford media relations other estimates of Blizzard-sales are as follows:
- Brandon- 1,749 Blizzards
- Groton- 1,133 Blizzards
- Sioux Falls- 65,000 Blizzards.
Official numbers and donations are expected to be released next week.
