With school only a few weeks away, one local business raises money to help those who can't afford school supplies for their kids.
"We have a spirit committee that every year decided a project to donate back to the community. We chose Project S.O.S. as our fundraiser, " said Sarah Wilkins.
"One of the employees decided a penny war would be a good idea, and it kind of got out of control. The competition got pretty heated," she said.
She adds, "We decided that school supplies for children is very important, and they're very expensive. We talked about as kids how exciting it was to get the backpack and school supplies for school."
Surgical Management Professionals put together five teams to compete against each other to raise the most money.
