One Sioux Falls business fails overnight liquor sting
Only one out of 23 Sioux Falls off-sale alcohol establishments in Tuesday night's compliance check failed a liquor sting.
Sioux Falls police say the Get-N-Go at 6201 West 12th Street sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21. The clerk who sold to a minor was issued a citation for furnishing alcohol to a person 18-20 years old with a mandatory court appearance required.
According to a news release from the Sioux Falls Police Department, businesses selling alcohol to underage persons may face fines, suspensions or loss of their liquor or malt beverage licenses.
The Sioux Falls Police Department said it will continue to do random alcohol compliance checks in an effort to protect the young people in the city.
