FL, GA men linked to synthetic drugs in Deadwood

Posted: Updated:

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Three men from Florida and one from Georgia face federal charges after authorities linked them to synthetic drugs sold in the South Dakota city of Deadwood.

A federal grand jury has indicted the four men on a drug conspiracy charge. They each could face up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine if convicted.

Court documents show that federal authorities also have seized more than $600,000 in cash from bank accounts controlled by a Florida-based company owned by two of the suspects.

The owners of Pam's Purple Door in Deadwood were arrested earlier this year for allegedly selling synthetic drugs out of the souvenir and adult novelty shop. Harley Kirwan faces five misdemeanors. Charges against his wife have been dismissed.
