Sioux Falls' future events center has a name – Denny Sanford Premier Center.
In a news conference Thursday afternoon, Mayor Mike Huether and Community Development Director Darrin Smith announced the $20.75 million deal between Sanford Health, First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard. The deal secures the naming rights for 25 years.
The Sioux Falls Arena and Convention Center will keep their names, but the entire area will be called Sanford Place.
The city council must still approve the deal.
Construction on the $115 million dollar facility is already underway. An official groundbreaking will be held August 30.
