Viewer: Dive Teams searching Missouri River near Vermillion
We are following some news out of Clay County Sunday night.
A viewer is telling us dive teams were in the Missouri River near Vermillion Sunday looking for someone who needed help. It's in the area of the Vermillion/Newcastle bridge.
The viewer also said authorities were out near a boat ramp east of the bridge going into the Nebraska side.
By a photo the viewer sent to us you can see a fire and rescue truck. People were also standing around and on their cell phones. There was also a sheriff's department car parked. We could not see from the photo which department it was.
We talked to Yankton authorities Sunday night and they tell us Yankton's Search and Rescue crews were asked by Clay County to help with this effort.
Clay County authorities are not releasing any information. Once we get more information we'll be sure to pass it along to you.
