Sioux Falls had the chance to get to know their local law enforcement a little better, Monday night, during the Cops, Kids and Karts event at Thunder Road.
The casual setting was chosen to show underprivileged children that police can have fun, because all too often, the only contact some middle school-aged kids have with officers is during high-stress situations.
In addition to enjoying Thunder Road for free, kids and their police friends were treated to a dinner of ice cream and pizza.
Sioux Falls Police, the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office all participated. The kids were selected by The Banquet.
