Allegiant is suspending scheduled flights from Sioux Falls and three other cities to Los Angeles at the end of August.
Allegiant announced Thursday it is suspending scheduled service between Los Angeles International Airport and Billings, Mont., Pasco, Wash. and Sioux Falls.
"This situation is particularly disappointing due to the fact that it has been caused by facility constraints beyond our control," said Keith Hansen, Allegiant Travel Co. Director of Airports. "We are very apologetic to our customers who will be adversely affected by the politics of Los Angeles World Airports, and we will continue to fight for their best interest."
According to a news release from Allegiant, the three routes will be suspended because of a decline in gate space allotted to the carrier. The carrier's last day of service for the three routes will be August 31.
The company said customers with reservations after August 31 will be contacted directly by Allegiant for a full refund.
