Officials in the southwestern South Dakota town of Edgemont hope to lift water use restrictions by Monday.
One of the two pumps that fill the city's storage tanks malfunctioned last week, and the community's 800 residents were asked to refrain from non-essential activities such as watering lawns.
Mayor Jim Turner says that the problem should be fixed Friday but it will take all weekend to refill the reservoirs.
