Senator John Thune has released a statement regarding Mitt Romney's choice of running mate:

"Paul Ryan is a solid choice by Mitt Romney to serve as his Vice Presidential running mate. The failed economic policies of the last three and a half years under President Obama's watch have left America with staggering debt and deficits. Governor Romney understands what it takes to turn this ship around, strengthen our economy, and get America working again. I congratulate the Governor on his selection and look forward to working to elect a Romney-Ryan ticket in November."
