Brandon Sigmund of Mitchell, who was a semifinalist in the Men's Match Play in July and then won the Men's Mid-Amateur Championship two weeks later, fired a tournament-best 5-under-par 67 on Saturday to work his way into second place, just one stroke behind Tjeerdsma. Jim Entwisle of Huron and Match Play champion Ben Irlbeck are tied in third at 1-over-par 145.

The Men's Amateur Championship concludes on Sunday.

Patty Coddington of Sioux Falls shot 85 on Saturday to outlast Colette Quam of Aberdeen and win the Women's Senior Championship by one stroke. Coddington, who led by three after the first round, shot 166 for the tournament.
