One of South Dakota's blue-chip high school football recruits made his college choice the day before the start of practice.
Brandon Valley's Matt Vandeberg verbally committed to play his college football at the University of Iowa yesterday.
The wide reciever and defensive back has a number of major college schools lookings at him, but the Hawkeyes won out.
"I was going to wait and commit later in the football season, but I thought. I should just do it now. It was very family oriented down there, which is why i was intrigued to go there."
Vandeberg and Brandon Valley's first high school game this season is at O'Gorman on August 24th.
