No charges will be filed in the accident that sent three girls to the hospital after a motorcycle hit them while they were riding bikes near Rock Rapids.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office confirms no charges will be filed against the motorcyclist in Monday night's crash. It happened at 9:14 p.m., when five teenage girls were riding their bikes along country road K52, northeast of Rock Rapids, Iowa.
Witnesses said it was dark at the time of the accident. Hasche told witnesses he saw the girls at the last minute and swerved while trying to avoid them.
Three of the girls were injured in the crash. Two of them, Morgan Herda, 17, and Mackenzie Lutmer, 15, were airlifted to Sioux Falls. No details have been released on their conditions. The other injured girl, who was not airlifted, was released from the hospital Tuesday.
Witnesses say Hasche appeared to be okay because he was up and walking around after the accident. Hasche was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
