A Beadle County jury has convicted a Huron bar owner for the rape of three girls.
The jury returned with the verdict just before 6:00 Friday evening.
They convicted Werner Fajardo on six counts of rape, as well as one count of sexual contact and one alcohol charge. The judge dismissed a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, saying there wasn't enough evidence.
Prosecutors say the 35-year-old Fajardo assaulted a 12-year-old girl and two 14-year-old girls at his El Cuervo bar in Huron. He pleaded not guilty.
Fajardo's lawyer says there are inconsistencies between the girls' testimony and what they told police.
