RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - State Veterinarian Dustin Oedekoven says the recent outbreaks of swine flu in the eastern United States should not stop people from enjoying fairs in South Dakota.
Oedekoven says the strain of flu found in eastern states has not been found in South Dakota so far. He says people who go to fairs have no reason for concern.
The flu strain causes common influenza symptoms. It has been passed from pigs to humans, but not from human to human.
