Man held for possible connection to purse-snatching

A 25-year-old man is behind bars in Mitchell on a probation violation, but police are calling him a person of interest in a strong armed robbery investigation.

On Friday night a woman had her purse forcibly taken from her hands in a parking lot on North Foster Street near the Queen of Peace Hospital.

The man ran on foot, and the purse was found later in someone's yard.

The man's name has not been released.
