MARTIN, S.D. (AP) - Two people have died and two people received life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle crash near Martin.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Marvin Poorbear, 44, of Springfield, S.D., was driving east on U.S. Highway 18 early Monday morning when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled. Poorbear, who was wearing a seatbelt, was killed. Three passengers who were not wearing seatbelts were thrown from the vehicle.
Melisa Cummings, 23, of Martin died. The other two passengers were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
