WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - The mother of one of two Iowa cousins missing for more than a month has been hospitalized after police found her unresponsive at a relative's home in Waterloo.
A Waterloo police report says Misty Morrissey, 34, was taken Monday night to Allen Hospital.
Morrissey is the mother of Lyric Cook, 10. She and her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, who has since turned 9, were reported missing July 13 from the Waterloo suburb of Evansdale. Authorities believe the girls were abducted.
The newspaper reports the police report says that officers acting on a tip found Misty Morrissey sleeping and couldn't wake her.
Telephone calls from The Associated Press to police and Allen Hospital were not returned Tuesday afternoon.
