FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) - Police in Fort Dodge are investigating an act of vandalism against a local family as a hate crime.
Police say racial epithets were spray-painted on a mobile home and discovered Thursday afternoon.
Police Chief Tim Carmody says the family who lives in the mobile home is African-American, and he described the vandalism as including "graphic statements."
Carmody says the language used in the graffiti led investigators to treat it as a hate crime.
